Federalberghi Isole Minori Sicilia ha richiesto alla Regione Siciliana di prorogare senza ulteriori indugi i servizi integrativi regionali che collegano via mare le isole minori alla terra ferma.
In atto, tanto i residenti e i pendolari quanto chi desideri visitare le Eolie, le Egadi e Ustica, a partire dal primo ottobre, si ritrova con un numero di corse disponibili più che dimezzato. In attesa che vengano assegnati i servizi regionali previsti dai nuovi bandi, non si ancora infatti proceduto alla proroga di quelli vigenti. L’attuale proroga – perché pur sempre di proroga si trattava – scade infatti il 30 settembre.
Ma chi prenota la propria vacanza in un’isola, lo fa pianificandola in funzione dei mezzi di trasporto disponibili. E se questi non sono sufficienti o adeguati è costretta a rinunciare o a trascorrere una notte altrove. Ancora più grave i disagi a carico del turismo organizzato – particolarmente importante nei mesi di settembre e ottobre – alle prese con gruppi di persone, orari e coincidenze che non necessariamente risultano utili a raggiungere le isole in giornata.
“È inconcepibile – sottolinea il presidente Christian Del Bono – dover sempre arrivare a ridosso delle scadenze, nonostante le puntuali e reiterate segnalazioni. Le strutture regionali competenti intervengano con urgenza per porre rimedio e limitare i danni”.
“Questo disagio si somma a quelli già evidenziati – tanto da noi quanto dai sindaci delle isole minori – che hanno portato le Eolie a non avere mezzi sufficienti nella seconda metà di settembre; ad inaccettabili paventati tagli e ad aumenti tariffari sui mezzi SNS a sovvenzione statale; e al depauperamento di alcuni servizi importanti a valere su quelli regionali (come ad esempio, la disponibilità del mezzo di riserva e i benefici previsti dalla ex Liberty Card per i pendolari).”
Per tutti questi motivi, è importante che il nuovo Governo, tanto a Palermo quanto a Roma, incontri i Sindaci e i rappresentanti delle categorie interessate per porre urgente rimedio a disagi e disservizi che non fanno altro che aumentare il divario delle isole minori rispetto ai territori della terra ferma in spregio a quanto previsto dalla Costituzione e dal Trattato di Funzionamento dell’Unione Europea.
