Delfino spiaggiato a Levanzo: soccorso e rimesso in libertà
Il tempestivo intervento congiunto dei mezzi navali della Guardia Costiera di Trapani e dell’Ente gestore dell’Area marina protetta delle Isole Egadi ha permesso il salvataggio di un delfino rimasto impigliato in una rete da pesca. Disorientato ed in evidente difficoltà, è stato recuperato e riportato al largo salvo ed in sicurezza.
E’ il lieto fine di una vicenda iniziata questa mattina in prossimità dell’isola di Levanzo, dove l’esemplare si stava andando a spiaggiare contro gli scogli presenti in prossimità della costa. I militari, una volta accortisi dell’esemplare in difficoltà, visibilmente in buone condizioni e senza ferite di alcun genere, sono subito intervenuti, riuscendo a tagliare e recuperare lo spezzone di rete che avvolgeva il delfino ed a riorientarlo immediatamente verso l’alto mare, dove è stato lasciato libero in acqua per ritornare al largo.
Per facilitare il rientro del delfino verso la corretta direzione senza che si disorientasse nuovamente, il gommone della Guardia Costiera ha aiutato l’esemplare a trovare la giusta “rotta“, facendo una scia che il delfino ha in effetti seguito per ritornare, in sicurezza, verso il suo habitat naturale, salvandosi così da un sicuro e pericoloso spiaggiamento a riva.
