La consulenza è firmata dai tecnici Mauro Sanna, Rino Felici e Nazzareno Santilli.
Scrivono i consulenti nella perizia: “Le vasche maggiori di trattamenti dell’impianto di depurazione Ias mancando di idonei sistemi di mitigazione e contenimento, ogni anno emettono in aria ambiente complessivamente 77,4 tonnellate di composti organici volatili, costituite da 13,6 tonnellate di benzene, 9,8 tonnellate da toluene, 11,3 tonnellate di xiliene e 42,8 tonnellate da residui composti, nonché da 7,4 tonnellate di idrogeno solforato. Tali quantità, sommate a quelle emesse dagli insediamenti produttrici, contribuiscono a determinare un deterioramento della qualità dell’aria. La continua immissione in aria di idrocarburi, non mitigata e/o limitata da idonei impianti di abbattimento in dotazione all’Ias, determina nelle zone limitrofe all’impianto la compromissione della salubrità dell’aria ambiente che è la primaria condizione di garanzia per una buona qualità della vita degli abitanti dei centri di Priolo Gargallo, Melilli e Siracusa. Naturalmente la diffusione di tali composti in determinate situazione meteorologiche può estendersi ad altri comuni”
