Sicilia: “Punta Bianca” inserita nel Piano Regionale delle Riserve Naturali
“Punta Bianca” – con Monte de GraSicilia – è stata inserita nel Piano Regionale delle Riserve Naturali della Regione Siciliana. Con una nota del Dirigente del Servizio dell’Assessorato Regionale al Territorio e Ambiente Francesco Picciotto, indirizzata al Sindaco di Palma di Montechiaro Stefano Castellino, è stato reso noto formalmente il riconoscimento e l’inserimento di una delle aree naturali più suggestive della Sicilia, a cavallo dei territori di Agrigento e Palma di Montechiaro, nel Piano regionale dei parchi e delle riserve naturali. L’area protetta dell’agrigentino si aggiunge al rilevante patrimonio naturalistico e paesaggistico tutelato dell’Isola.
Le aree naturali protette della Sicilia comprendono quattro Parchi regionali (il Parco dell’Etna, delle Madonie, dei Nebrodi e il Parco Fluviale dell’Alcantara), che occupano una superficie di 184.655 ettari, e 75 riserve naturali regionali (tra cui la Riserva naturale orientata Monte Capodarso e Valle dell’Imera Meridionale – gestita da Italia Nostra dal 1999) per una superficie complessiva di 86.181 ettari, pari al 10,6% della superficie regionale. Tali aree sono state previste con la legge regionale n. 98 del 1981, che ha istituito anche la prima riserva, quella dello Zingaro. Dall’estate 2016 si aggiunge, allo speciale territorio delle aree tutelate, il primo Parco Nazionale nell’area siciliana ovvero il Parco dell’isola di Pantelleria. Sono presenti, inoltre, sette aree marine protette.
E’ utile ricordare, anche, che la tutela delle aree di valenza ecologica-ambientale finora istituite è di esclusiva competenza della Regione Siciliana, attraverso l’Assessorato Regionale al Territorio e Ambiente. Ai sensi della legge nazionale n. 222/2007, è stata prevista l’istituzione di altri 3 parchi nazionali (Parco delle Egadi e del litorale trapanese, Parco delle Eolie e Parco degli Iblei). La Corte Costituzionale ha stabilito, con sentenza n. 12 del 2009, che in materia di parchi nazionali la competenza è esclusivamente dello Stato, anche nelle Regioni a statuto speciale come la Sicilia, cui resta la competenza dei parchi regionali. Con decreto del Presidente della Repubblica del 28 luglio 2016 è stato istituito il Parco nazionale dell’Isola di Pantelleria, che diventa così il primo parco nazionale siciliano. Nel 2019 il Parco dei Monti Sicani, istituito nel 2014, è stato soppresso dopo un pronunciamento del TAR.

The unnamed couple took the plunge near the Accademia bridge near St. Mark’s Square and gondoliers at the Rio San Vidal kiosk immediately called authorities, who removed them from the water.
“I thank the gondoliers for their cooperation and timely reporting,” said Venice Security Councillor Elisabetta Pesce in a statement published by city authorities on Friday.

“Since the beginning of the year, we have issued a total of 1,136 orders of expulsion for incidents of degradation and uncivilized behavior,” Venice local police deputy commander Gianni Franzoi said in a statement shared with CNN.
Poor visitor behavior is one of the worst byproducts of overtourism, Franzoi said, and incidents are on the rise.
In July 2024, an Australian man was fined and expelled for diving off the Rialto Bridge after his friends posted about it on social media.
The year before, two French tourists were fined and expelled for skinny dipping in the canal under the moonlight. In August 2022, a German man was fined and expelled for surfing in the canal.

Venice’s authorities have been trying to balance the need for visitor income with residents’ demands for a city that works for them.
Day trippers now pay a €10 entrance fee on summer weekends and during busy periods throughout the year.
The city has also banned tour groups of more than 25 people, loudspeakers and megaphones, and even standing on narrow streets to listen to tour guides.
“It was necessary to establish a system of penalties that would effectively deter potential violations,” Pesce said when the ordinance was passed in February.
“Our goal remains to combat all forms of irregularities related to overtourism in the historic lagoon city center,” she added.
“The new rules for groups accompanied by guides encourage a more sustainable form of tourism, while also ensuring greater protection and safety in the city and better balancing the needs of Venice residents and visitors.”
